The teddy bears and animals from the Steiff Replica series are very special, as they have re-created bears that they have made in the past, using historic patterns and tools and so have been reproduced exactly according to their role models from the Steiff archieves. All Steiff replicas have the famous "Button in Ear" indicating the year in which they were made and from Spring 2017 onwards, they have had replica ear tags as well. From this time, the white tag with red lettering will be sewn into the side seam of the bear as well and will contain the article and limited edition number.

Teddy Bear 1906 has been handmade with brown mohair fur on the inside of his ears, around his eyes, soles and paws and the mouth and claws are trimmed with dusky pink, which was very unusual for the time.
He has wooden eyes and is stuffed with wood shavings, which is the material used in the early years of bear making.
He has an underscored button made of patinated steel and a white label with black writing, showing that he is only limited to 906 pieces worldwide, making a very collectable bear.
