2020 is a special year, as Steiff are celebrating their 140th Anniversary!!
Margarete Steiff made her first plush toy in 1880, which was a little felt elephant and her nephew, Richard Steiff, created the first teddy bear in 1902. Since then, millions of gorgeous plush and mohair bears and animals have found loving owners in homes all around the world.
Therefore, it seemed only fitting to create something amazing to symbolise this and so Steiff have made 2 unique pieces in this new anniversary limited edition.
This classic and traditional beige mohair bear has 140 embroidered onto one of his paws, to represent this special year and he proudly holds a little white felt elephant, who wears a blue and yellow saddlecloth, making the perfect duo.
It is in a numbered limited edition of 1880 and the bear has a special elephant logo on his chest tag.
Limited to 1880 pieces
He has the famous gold plated "Button in Ear", with an elephant motif and a white label with red writing, showing that he is only limited to 1880 pieces worldwide, making a very collectable bear.
