The teddy bears and animals from the Steiff Replica series are very special, as they have re-created bears that they have made in the past, using historic patterns and tools and so have been reproduced exactly according to their role models from the Steiff archieves. All Steiff replicas have the famous "Button in Ear" indicating the year in which they were made and from Spring 2017 onwards, they have had replica ear tags as well. From this time, the white tag with red lettering will be sewn into the side seam of the bear as well and will contain the article and limited edition number.

Steiff introduced the Shaggy Bear in 1914 and it remained in the product range until 1927. This SHAGGY BEAR REPLICA 1914 is only limited to 914 pieces worldwide, which marks the year that it was initially introduced.
This gorgeous grizzly bear has soft, shaggy, textured dark brown mohair and stands on all fours. He is stuffed with extra wood shavings and you can hear him growl by pressing the squeaker in his tummy. His pointed muzzle has been lightly trimmed to show his black glass eyes and black hand-stitched nose.
He wears a period correct ear tag, with an underscored button made of patinated steel and in addition to this, he also has the white replica label attached to his side.
