STEIFF SYLVESTER - A STEIFF LICENSED CHARACTER

Licensed products are within the Steiff range of bears and this means that they have been given a licence to entitle them to make some of the famous characters from cartoons and films.  Enthusiasts and collectors are facinated by how Steiff have interpreted them and how authentic they are to the original and love seeing their favourite character come to life.......just like this wonderful addition to their growing range.

Size 34cm (13½")

Limited Edition of 1500

"I Tawt I Saw A Puddy Tat"......................well - you are right - this is Sylvester!!!

On the 24th March 1945 Isadore "Friz" Freleng created a cat called Sylvester. He had a lisp and his first words, which became his famous catchphrase almost immediately were "Thufferin Thuccotash!!". Sylvester appeared in 103 cartoons in the golden age, 3 of them winning Academy Awards, the most for any starring Looney Tunes character. These are Tweetie Pie, Speedy Gonzales and Birds Anonymous.

The cartoons have been seen by generation, after generation and will probably continue to be seen for a long time to come.

Sylvester is made from the finest black and white mohair and he has a big red nose, as he was originally based on a clown!  He is 5-way jointed and wouldn't be a cat without a tail.  Look out for TWEETY PIE - they make a great pair.

He has a worldwide limitation of 1500 pieces.
