CHARLIE BEARS GOLIATH

CHARLIE BEARS GOLIATH (LION) - FROM THE QUEEN'S BEASTS SERIES

Size: 16" (41cm)

When Her Majesty the Queen of England was crowned in 1953, the entrance to Westminster Abbey was guarded by ten fantastical creatures in the form of heraldic statues that were 6ft high and weighed 50 stone each!

Each beast supports a sheild bearing a badge or arms of a family associated with the ancestory of Queen Elizabeth II. After the coronation, they were moved to the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec.

Charlie Bears have designed a stunning series to commemorate this and it's called The Queen's Beast Series.

Goliath is a numbered Limited Edition of 2000.

Goliath represents the Lion of England, which is one of the earliest animals to appear in royal emblems and is a traditional symbol of bravery, strength and valour.

Goliath has soft golden fur, with a majestic mane that has lots of dark tipping. His big mighty paws are sculpted and stitched and he has a long tail, a black hand-stitched nose and smiling mouth - so he is very friendly lion, who will roar his way into your affections. He proudly wears a key pendant on a glittering cord.

Goliath is from the Charlie Bears 2019 Collection.

Designed by Alison Mills and co-designed by Charlotte Morris
