CHARLIE BEARS OONA (UNICORN) - FROM THE QUEEN'S BEASTS SERIES
Size: 16" (41cm)
When Her Majesty the Queen of England was crowned in 1953, the entrance to Westminster Abbey was guarded by ten fantastical creatures in the form of heraldic statues that were 6ft high and weighed 50 stone each!
Each beast supports a sheild bearing a badge or arms of a family associated with the ancestory of Queen Elizabeth II. After the coronation, they were moved to the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec.
Charlie Bears have designed a stunning series to commemorate this and it's called The Queen's Beasts Series.
Oona is a numbered Limited Edition of 2000.
Oona represents The Unicorn of Scotland, as Scotland is known for its long history of myths and legends and so the unicorn is Scotland's national animal. It was first used on the Scottish royal coat of arms by William I in the 21st Century and is a symbol of purity and innocence.
Oona is a really breath-taking unicorn - so beautiful, elegant and dainty - you just say "WOW" when you look at her.
She is made from lovely soft fur in pure white and this show off her expressive, dark, twinkling eyes, which give a really innocent look. She has some larger fur around her neck, with a stunning mane and tail, made from long, whispy cream coloured fur, that has some feathered elements. This same fur is also on the end of her hooves, creating a really stunning unicorn, that will stand out in any collection and be a real talking point.
She wouldn't be complete without her horn and she is accessorised with a golden cord.
Oona is from the Charlie Bears 2019 Collection.
