The elephant is an iconic animal for Steiff - symbolising the birth of the company with the elephant pincushion made by Margarete Steiff in 1880. This new elephant for 2010 is updated with the new official colours of the Steiff brand. The CI in the name stands for 'Corporate Identity'.
It has been beautifully made in cream, white and black wool felt, with a saddle embroidered with 1847 - the year of Margarete Steiff's birth, and 2010 - the year that Steiff are introducing a brand new European Collector's Series.
