Corfe Castle is situated on the A351 between the towns of Swanage and Wareham, in the middle of the historic and beautiful Isle of Purbeck. It can be reached either by driving through Wareham, or from Poole across the chain ferry (approx 5 min crossing/minimal charge), via the village of Studland. Corfe Bears is located in the quaint, bustling village centre, known as The Square, which is an ex-market place, in the lee of the imposing castle and 12th Century church, where the Saxon King Edward the Martyr was murdered by his wicked stepmother. The village has also featured in “The Mayor of Casterbridge”.
The village has several pubs, tearooms and a bistro to satisfy your appetites, as well as a grocers and traditional sweet shop. Accommodation can be found in the village, ranging from an hotel, B&B in a pub/houses, cottages to rent and camping.
