Beatrix Potter wrote and illustrated her first story in 1893 in a private letter to a young boy who had been unwell for some time. She had 200 copies of The Tale of Peter Rabbit printed privately - they sold out within 2 weeks! The book was professionally published in 1902 and has never been out of print since then!
The characters of Beatrix Potter's books have become beloved friends to children for over a century. Peter Rabbit (who was named after Beatrix' own pet bunny rabbit!) and his sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail, Peter's friend Benjamin Bunny, Jemima Puddleduck, Mr Tod the fox and so many more.
Designed based closely on Miss Potter's original illustrations, these Beatrix Potter toys are faithful representations of the stories' animals that will bring the books to life for young readers and inspire fond memories in slightly older readers!
