June Kendall has been designing and creating teddy bears for 18 years, since being inspired by a visit to the Teddy Bear Museum in Stratford. Also a watercolour artist, June was exhibiting paintings in an exhibition to celebrate 150 years since the birth of Dorset's Thomas Hardy when she began her teddy bear artistry; hence the name 'Hardy Bears'.
Hardy Bears are miniature masterpieces, crafted in the finest mohair. They are fully jointed, traditional teddy bears, partly filled with steel shot to give them a lovely weighty feel and make them sit well. Many of June's bears are beautifully dressed and they all have in common a thoughtful expression that makes them wonderfully endearing.
