PADDINGTON 60TH ANNIVERSARY 28CM
STEIFF PADDINGTON BEAR 60TH ANNIVERSARY 28CM - A LICENSED STEIFF CHARACTER
Limited Edition of 1958
It's 60 years since Michael Bond wrote his first Paddington story, which was called "A Bear Called Paddington", first published on the 13th October 1958. He was inspired to write it when he noticed a teddy bear sitting alone on a shelf in a London store on Christmas Eve, which he bought as a present for his wife. Little did he realise that Paddington would become one of the most famous bears in the world, loved by people of all ages!
To celebrate this anniversary, Steiff have made a special Paddington, which is based on the first bear illustrated by Peggy Fortnum, where Paddington is arriving at Paddington station, wearing his blue duffle coat, red hat and carrying his suitcase......waiting to be adopted by the Brown family.
He is made from the finest cinnamon mohair and the famous gold plated "Button in Ear" holds the white label, which shows a limitation of 1958, exclusive to the UK and USA only. It also comes with a specially commissioned 60th anniversary logo.
This famous bear will make an ideal gift for a Paddington fan of any age and will also be a suitable present for births and christenings, or for a 60th birthday or 60th Wedding anniversary.
