Corfe Bears Newsletter 9th May 2020

These immortal words were sung by Dame Vera Lynn, who is best known as ‘The Forces Sweetheart’, as she performed for the troops during World War II in countries including Egypt, India and Burma. She is now 103 and calls on the British public to pull together during a trying period.

“I am reminded of WWII when our country faced the darkest times and yet, despite our struggles, pulled together for the common good and we faced common threat together as a country and as a community of countries that joined as one, right across the world.” She encourages the world to “keep smiling and keep singing.”

“Music is so good for the soul and during these hard times we must all help each other to find moments of joy.”

SO…. BE POSITIVE…. if you are feeling lonely or down, cheer yourself up and sing the song above. Keep your chin up because…………..

Jill from Salisbury can’t wait to be with her family at the moment…..
here is her bear story:-

“Thank you so much for your amazing customer service and welcome news letters during this difficult and stressful time. I have over 100 Charlie Bears having started my collection many years ago with a bear called Zoe, the name of one of my daughters. Since then I have added to my collection with bears named for my other 2 children as well as lots more! I recently purchased ‘Jill’ (my name) and then was delighted to see today that Dan bear has been reduced. Dan is the name of my very dear friend, who I met 50 years ago this month, when my school friend and I went to an England football match at Wembley. My school friend subsequently married Dan and we have remained friends ever since. So a very big thank you from me and I so look forward to being able to visit your wonderful shop when we are eventually allowed out!! Keep up the good work and stay safe.”

As you can see, Jill has got her family’s namesake bears in her collection. As she can’t be with her family now, she can hug her family namesake bears until she
“meets them again”!

And if you were wondering what her friend DANlooks like, here he is!

If you would like him, click on his name above.

He is reduced to £49 BUT, we only have a couple left, so be quick!!

Jennifer from Lancashire says:

“Thank you for my lovely Charlie 2020 bear. She’s helping me with my work lol”

….. Actually, Charlie 2020 is having the last laugh, because she isn’t working…. she is writing a letter to her bear friends instead!!

(yes old fashioned letter writing
with a pen & paper does still exist!)

Beverley from Gillingham also loves her CHARLIE 2020 YEAR BEAR:-

“Just wanted to say a big thank you to all for my Charlie Bear 2020, which I received this morning. I’m so grateful to you for your fast service - unbelievable in these current circumstances. The bear is absolutely gorgeous, such a beautiful face. I’m so thrilled with her.”

And finally….. Dawn and Allan from Guildford say:-

“Thanks for your fab emails, lovely way to help us get through the tough times at the moment, looking forward to when we can get back out on the Harley and come and visit your lovely part of Dorset.”

Dawn and Allan…… “WE WILL MEET AGAIN XX!!”
