The first in the Steiff "Tribute to the Puppenhaus" series of teddy bears, Theo is a faithful replica of a teddy bear that can be found in the Puppenhaus museum in Switzerland. The original bear, known only as "specimen number 1766", was meticulously measured to recreate the long snout and humped back. He was also sent to the Steiff Schulte mohair factory to enable the artisans to custom-make a material as close to the Puppenhaus Teddy bear as possible.
Theo is consequently a fine replicated example of a 1916 Steiff classic. He is made from fine grey mohair, fully-jointed with glass eyes & growler, and carefully airbrushed to give a vintage aged look.
