Deb Canham is a teddy bear artist producing limited edition bears, mice, bunnies, dragons and more. Deb specialises in highly detailed miniatures from just 1 ¼" and designs virtually all of her many ranges personally. She began making miniature bears in 1987 and in 1996 created her own design company producing limited edition pieces that appeal not just to teddy bear fans, but also the figurine and collectables world.
Deb's little works of art are produced in China, not in a factory or by a big corporation, but by a group of twelve Chinese ladies who Deb taught to sew over fifteen years ago, and have made her teddy bears and animals ever since. The women work from home or at a workshop in a house where Deb stays during her regular visits. Family are welcome at the workroom and Deb has built a great relationship with her skilled team and become a family friend attending and sharing in family events - a far cry from mass production!
Each bear and animal is made from the finest materials sourced in the USA, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. They are all complete with a hang tag noting the bear's name, limitation number, collection and the artist's signature. There are endless different ranges and collections, from tiny, fully-jointed, dollshouse-sized figures to larger bears and animals absolutely full of personality.
