Big Dave does a great job of watching over our shop so we thought it was time to introduce you more formally!

A very special member of the Charlie Bears family, Big Dave is one of the largest bears, standing almost two and a half feet tall (76cm)!!  He’s definitely seen as the big Daddy to the smaller bears.  Being made from particularly long plush he is extra soft and gives a substantial cuddle!  He can stand totally unaided due to his big, weighted feeet.  He wears a suedette collar with three big bells, and has a lovely big, stitched nose and bright black eyes.

The story behind the creation of Big Dave is lovely.  Will and Charlie at Charlie Bears are always open to teddy bear collector’s and fan’s suggestions for names of new bears.  Big Dave was suggested by one such Charlie Bears collector, whose husband is nicknamed Big Dave.  The great big teddy bear was born and now the happy fan has a gorgeous tribute to her wonderful husband!  Along with lots of other collectors who have added Big Dave to their hugs.

It’s not often that you find a quality, artist-designed bear of this size.  Big Dave has been joined recently by the very beautiful Martha the panda who stands the same height at 29″ and also comes from Charlie Bears.  Despite their size we will still ship these bears to you totally free of charge!
