We have some very exciting news - the fantastic and VERY popular Charlie Bears have just launched a range of gorgeous teddy bear keyrings. We’re very pleased to be one of the first teddy bear shops to introduce them to you. We were given hints to expect new things from Charlie Bears this year and were lucky to see these miniature bear keyrings while visiting Charlie and William at the Spring Fair in Birmingham in February. Since then we’ve had to keep a privileged secret, but now the bears are out!
Each of the ten Charlie Bears keyrings are mini replicas of Charlie Bears that are ‘retired’ - no longer being made. They truly capture the look and personality of the original bigger bear and will no doubt be irresistible to collectors who have the original in their collection, as well as those who are desperately seeking these rare Charlie Bears. They will also make perfect presents - at a brilliantly affordable price and no worries about finding space for another bear! They can be clipped onto keys, handbags, rucksacks and anywhere else you can think of - or sit on display with your bigger bears.

It is with great pleasure that we introduce our first range of teddy bears, mice, rabbits and other animals and characters from world-renowned teddy bear artist, Deb Canham. Deb has a huge following of fans who adore her miniature bears, flamboyant dragons and well-dressed animals.
Deb became one of the UK’s first teddy bear artists when she began designing and making her own miniature bears in 1987. Rapidly Deb became a respected expert in teddy bear artistry, holding lectures, workshops and writing a book on miniature bear making.

Meerkats have become one of the nation’s most-loved animals. If you didn’t adore them before (remember Timon from Disney’s Lion King?) then you probably do now, having seen them on Aleksandr Orlov’s highly entertaining insurance advertisements and their own Meerkat Manor television program.

We are very proud to be featuring Bearalicious Bears as the very first teddy bear artist bears on our website.
Samantha Pace starting designing and hand-making teddy bears only a year ago, yet it’s clear to see that she has a true affinity with her creations, which have unique personalities and appeal. Already a keen crafter Sam started with a bear-making kit, quickly realising she could do far better by designing a teddy bear from scratch. And Bearalicious Bears was born!
The teddy bears are all made from high quality mohair, sourced from all over the world including Germany, Canada, Australia and America. They are finished with suede or faux suede for paws, glass eyes made in England and partly filled with steel shot making them sit well and giving a lovely feel when handled. Their shared characteristic is a bold, varnished nose; hand-stitched with cotton.
We are featuring six of these individual, one-of-a-kind bears and, already, two have been adopted! Such unique character and attention to detail is very rare to find at such a reasonable price and it is likely that the remaining four bears will find new homes very soon. Big Dave does a great job of watching over our shop so we thought it was time to introduce you more formally!
A very special member of the Charlie Bears family, Big Dave is one of the largest bears, standing almost two and a half feet tall (76cm)!! He’s definitely seen as the big Daddy to the smaller bears. Being made from particularly long plush he is extra soft and gives a substantial cuddle! He can stand totally unaided due to his big, weighted feeet. He wears a suedette collar with three big bells, and has a lovely big, stitched nose and bright black eyes. (more…)
Did you know that Steiff don’t just make traditional mohair teddy bears for collectors? They really do have something for everyone from animals to cute keyrings.
One of their best ranges is for babies. The Show Specials are only available from teddy bear shops and retailers who attended the Spring Fair at the NEC in Birmingham earlier this year. We were there of course, to see Charlie and Will and to see all of the new creations. All of them are limited editions and we don’t expect them to be around for long. We’re taking pre-orders so please enter the layaway code on your shopping cart for any that you would like reserved for you. You pay a 25% deposit now and then nothing until we’re ready to send your bear.
New in the Charlie Bears range are Mikey and William II. They’re both plumo bears which means they’re made from plush, with mohair muzzles and inner ears. They both have lovely stitched feet too, like Charlie 2009. Of course William is the perfect partner for Charlie as you may have seen when the humans appeared on QVC last weekend!
In the Isabelle Collection there are some lovely new pairs of friends. Brie & Camembert are two mohair mice (remember Nico and Taco?), and Mr Humphries & Pumpkin are mohair teddy bears and the best of friends. There are two new cats called Flash & Snowball, and two dogs - Ripley & Duke. So there’s someone for everyone! (more…)
